Really not dead

Neither the author nor the blog πŸ™‚ I just got distracted finishing up novel #1, and by changing my day job for an alternative day job which is more interesting but does take a bit mroe time and energy to keep on top of.

The novel (new working title is No Reflections) is finished, is in the final stages of beta reading & editing, and will be published.. soon. In the next month or so. Definitely before the end of June.

In other news, I’ve started novel #2 and I have outlines for another 3 in the same world. They’re not direct sequels, but the plots are linked and some characters make guest appearances.

I will try to be better about posting here, even if it’s just snippets and news, and possibly options for cover art. Does anyone know a good artist who won’t charge me $$$$ for something decent for an urban fantasy novel cover?

We Shadows – Part 1: Chasing Dreams

September 27, 2017 Danielle 0

Sorry for the long hiatus πŸ™‚ I’ve been working on a big project. Which is almost done. Part 1 is out with a couple’ve alpha readers now and part 2 is in the final edit stage. For those who are interested, this is the blurb for part 1:

Three cousins, each drawn to magic, discover the dangers of coming to the attention of the invisible world – and help save the world they know in the process.

Magic is like music; anyone can learn to use it. Trouble is, using magic attracts the attention of the magical powers of the world, and that isn’t always healthy. What if the reason you never hear about people who can genuinely use magic, who can change their luck by wishing or talk to the spirits of trees or mountains and sometimes get answers, is that those people are prey for the biggest magical predators there are. The ones who used to be human.

Robin has always believed in magic, but she didn’t used to believe in the fey. Now the fey have noticed her, and life has suddenly gotten complicated. When her best friend and her cousin go missing, Robin has to decide if any of the fey who are suddenly interested in her for reasons they won’t explain are trustworthy enough to ask for help.

BlogJune Challenge

May 27, 2016 Danielle 0

On a slightly lower key than NaNoWriMo, which I didn’t manage to finish this year because of a 2 week long, very stressful and timeconsuming cat emergency, BlogJune is coming up. So I’m gonna try to post something here every day of June. As a challenge to myself.

Official rules: register, then blog during june, and tweet your posts.

My rules: It has to be something creative. A snippet of conversation, a plot idea, a writing prompt, a piece of fiction, even a poem. Visual art counts if I’ve drawn it.

Let’s see how I go. #iambloggingjune

Writing in public

April 28, 2016 Danielle 0

This is a new exercise, although I’ve blogged before. This is a space to post snippets and writing prompts, finished fiction which isn’t going up for sale (and sometimes even if it is), and game designs and plot points. And of course, I’ll post news about new projects and completed projects here too. πŸ™‚

Happy reading.
